What We Do

We offer mental health therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language pathology - together, under one roof, with a shared clinical philosophy. That coordination isn't incidental. It's the point. Complex kids and families don't fit neatly into one discipline, and the most useful thing we can offer is a team that can see the whole picture and work from it together.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is for people who need space and support to understand themselves - how their nervous system works, how their history has shaped them, and what gets in the way of living the life they're trying to build. Sometimes this understanding is verbal; other times, it is a somatic understanding. We work with children, adolescents, and parents. Sessions are grounded in somatic and emotional regulation, identity development, and self-advocacy. We don't treat compliance as a goal. We work toward genuine capacity - the kind that holds up outside the therapy room.

Occupational Therapy

OT at Dandelion Spirit is about participation - in play, in daily life, in relationships, in the activities that matter to a child and family. Our occupational therapists work on sensory processing, motor development, body awareness, and self-care, always in the context of what a child is actually trying to do. We also work with families and schools to build environments that fit the child, rather than asking the child to fit the environment. For children with feeding challenges, we use a sensory-based, child-led approach that builds comfort and confidence with food at the child's pace.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Sometimes the most important thing is understanding what's actually going on. We offer comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations that look at the whole picture - cognitive, developmental, social-emotional, sensory, and adaptive functioning. Our evaluations are written for real people, not just for systems. That means clear findings, honest interpretation, and recommendations that are actually usable - for families, schools, and other providers.

We have a dedicated assessment page with more detail on what our evaluations include and how the process works. [Learn more →]

Family Therapy & Parent Coaching

Families are systems, and systems need support too. Whether through family therapy or parent coaching - including coaching rooted in OT and sensory frameworks - this work creates space to understand what's actually happening and what it would take to shift it. We help caregivers understand their child's nervous system, build co-regulation skills, and navigate the very real difficulty of parenting a child whose needs the world wasn't designed for. The format varies depending on what a family needs, but the goal is the same: caregivers who feel less alone and more equipped. We also make room for the emotional weight caregivers carry. That part matters too.

Speech Therapy

Communication is not just spoken language. Our speech and language pathologists support children in expressing themselves in whatever form works for them - spoken words, AAC, sign language, gestures, echolalia, or other means. We work to expand communication access, reduce frustration, and help the people in a child's life understand how that child communicates. We also support receptive language and comprehension, always working with a child's natural processing style rather than against it.

Groups and Parent Programs

We offer psychoeducational groups and structured parent programs, including programs for caregivers of children with Persistent Drive for Autonomy (PDA) profiles. These are structured learning experiences designed to shift how caregivers understand their child's nervous system and what actually helps. Additional group offerings vary by season.
